Each year, the UOIT Teaching Awards recognize three exceptional individuals who have demonstrated excellence in teaching, as one of many ways in which UOIT promotes and celebrates exceptional teaching and learning.
The UOIT Teaching Innovation Fund (UOIT-TIF) is a fund to assist both full-time core and full-time continuing complementary UOIT faculty to implement new web-centric teaching strategies, innovative instructional practices and/or to develop pioneering educational content.
The university believes that mentorship is important to the success of the university and to all new faculty members. It is anticipated that all newly hired faculty will participate in the program, which consists of: an orientation session in August, monthly faculty lunches, periodic classroom visits, and scheduled meetings with the Associate Provost Academic.
Course evaluation surveys will be completed on-line by students using their laptops during a scheduled class period. About 20 minutes of class time will be needed for this activity. You may conduct the survey at any convenient time during your class between the above dates. Please check your plans for your class(es) that week and get in touch with Jeanette Oliveira if you are unable to conduct the surveys, as we may be able to provide an alternate time.
The UOIT Teaching Certificate program assists graduate students who teach at UOIT. On their journey of transformation and achievement, the Teaching Certificate program helps grad students develop their skills, knowledge, and attitudes towards a technologically enhanced teaching and learning experience.
