Course evaluation surveys will be completed on-line by students using their laptops during a scheduled class period. About 20 minutes of class time will be needed for this activity. You may conduct the survey at any convenient time during your class between the above dates.  Please check your plans for your class(es) that week and get in touch with Jeanette Oliveira if you are unable to conduct the surveys, as we may be able to provide an alternate time.

A significant return rate for the surveys is important to ensure feedback regarding the quality of the learning experience.  Please encourage your students to submit their surveys.

Please note the following:

• If there are more than one faculty member teaching in a course, there will be separate surveys for each faculty member.  If there is a tutorial and/or lab associated with your course students will complete evaluations for their TA and/or lab instructor as well.  Please make sure your lab and tutorial instructors are aware of this.

• The surveys are set up so that when a student logs-in during a specific class they will see have the option of selecting any of their current courses. They should be reminded that during your class, they should complete only the surveys about your course and any related lab or tutorials.

• Students will only be able to view and submit each survey once.

• Once initial instructions have been clarified, faculty may leave the room while students are completing the surveys. A student monitor could be asked to be available in case there are any administration issues.

• Advise the students that their feedback is completely confidential.  The results will be sent directly to an outside data management service http://www.cci-research.com/ .  Once the survey is completed it becomes anonymous. A unique course identifier is associated with the submitted survey, but the student specific information such as ID is not tracked in the final data set.  The information will be processed and returned to the university without identifying any individual student.

• The results are not sent to faculty members until all marks are submitted.
