Each year, the UOIT Teaching Awards recognize three exceptional individuals who have demonstrated excellence in teaching, as one of many ways in which UOIT promotes and celebrates exceptional teaching and learning:
one core faculty,
one complementary faculty (sessional, part time, faculty associate or senior lab instructors) and
one teaching assistant.
These awards distinguish those who have significantly enhanced the quality of learning for UOIT students through innovation and commitment, by fostering new instructional practices and learning activities, and through engagement in the scholarship of teaching and learning. The UOIT teaching awards promote informed discussion about enhancing teaching, and provide an opportunity to publicize such excellence not only across the university, but also to the wider community.
